The Russell County Baseball League hosted over 35 young athletes on Saturday morning for our 3rd annual Baseball Clinic. These clinics provide players ages 7-12, the opportunity to receive instruction from experienced athletes. The instructors spent time reviewing the fundamentals of baseball such as hitting, fielding, and pitching.
This year’s clinic was run by Hunter Milam and some of the best athletes in our area. Hunter is a former Russell County pitcher that was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 17th round. Some of our league’s best pitchers received pitching tips from Hunter. Hunter also took the time to encourage all of our young athletes to pursue their dreams. He told them that when they set a goal they shouldn’t allow themselves to become distracted by the things around them.
The Russell County Baseball League would like to thank all of the instructors for taking the time to share their skills with our young athletes. We wish you all the best in your baseball careers and beyond. We also hope our youth athletes went home with skills that will help them in the upcoming baseball season and that they listen to the advice they received.
